Doan Mon

Location: Hoang Dieu Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.
Features: Doan Mon is the main entrance of the Forbidden City, in the central relic Hoang Thang Long - Hanoi.
Doan Mon facing south as this is the most important direction in the traditional architecture of the ancient Vietnamese. Built from the Le and renovations, renovations to the Nguyen Dynasty, Doan Mon is one of the few buildings not destroyed when Thanh Hanoi French army was dismantled in the late 19th century after the year 1954, when our soldiers liberated the takeover, the regional capital, Hanoi City (including Doan Mon) became the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense.

Doan Mon consists of 3 floors. The bottom floor was built by the ancient architecture wall with 5 gates lying almost absolute symmetry through god-axis direction - spindle center - Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. In 1998, the relics Doan Mon was the Ministry of Defence handed over to the People's Committee of Hanoi city with a total area la3.970m² management. Buildings are open to visitors from May 10/2001.
