Notre Dame Cathedral

Location: 1 Square, the Paris Commune, District 1, HCMC. Ho Chi Minh.
Features: Works style mixing Roman architecture - of European Gothic in the 12th century, the church image simulation Lady of Paris (France).
 Church construction was started in 1877 to house the ceremony for French Catholics and inaugurated in 1880 under the name of the State church built by the French because the French capital investment. In early 1959, on the occasion of Father Joseph Pham Van Thien ruled Saigon parish to put Our Lady of Peace statue on a pedestal in front of the church members should church called Notre Dame. Stone pedestal at the foot of a statue is carved drawers, drawers inside a silver box containing the chant for peace in Vietnam and the world. Cathedral has a length of 93m, 35,5m wide, 21m high dome. The whole building materials, decorative churches were brought from France. In particular, the outer surface is clad in bricks church ordered from Marseille (France) to the ceiling, do not fill plaster, moss and dirt to keep the color pink still fresh. In the middle of the church mounted the large clock.

Church interior cathedral has 12 main columns rectangular (divided into 2 rows), symbolizing the 12 apostles. Shortly after the two rows of columns is a corridor and a small chapel holy altars placed along the altar 14 Stations of the Cross made of white stone sophistication. Private Sanctuary altar made of monolithic marble angel carved six. On the church wall stained glass door layout described 56 characters or events in the Bible; 25 windows and 31 bullseye circular shaped roses decorated with mosaic picture. Above the main door is "hung above" pipe organ is placed specifically designed to emit a sound when the herd spread only within the church, not noisy nor small. Currently, the guitar is no longer used but is considered one of the oldest guitar Vietnam.

Both parties face the second main church bell tower (each tower 57,6m), placed inside the bronze bell weighs almost 6 of 30 tons, the sound can be heard from in the range of about 10km. Attached belfry atop a tall crucifix 3,50m, width 2m, 600kg heavier.
